ECS PuriFilter Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)

The PuriFilter is an approved conversion device under the London Low Emission Zone (LEZ) and many other worldwide emissions programs.
PuriFilter will allow Euro1 & Euro2 vehicle to conform to the London LEZ requirements beyond 2012 by reducing the particulate (soot) emissions to Euro4 levels. This product will also enable very old pre-Euro vehicles to comply with LEZ until 2012 by reducing particulate (soot) to Euro3 levels.
Cawdell supply and fit the product either at customer workshops or at our Derbyshire HQ, or at one of our fitting partners sites. For further information please contact us.

The PuriFilter from Engine Control Systems is an integrated diesel particulate filter and silencer which efficiently removes particulate (soot) and gaseous pollutants from the exhaust stream.
The filtered soot and other contaminates are oxidised when the exhaust temperature reaches 320° C under normal vehicle operation.
The PuriFilter almost eliminates black smoke, soot, and noxious emissions of hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide. The PuriFilter does not require fuel additive.

A silicon-carbon substrate is used for the filter material and all casings are of high quality stainless steel. This adds to the PuriFilter’s durability credentials.

Though originally developed for on-road applications the PuriFilter is also being used successfully in the construction, materials handling, and stationary engine markets.

When the exhaust passes through the micro-porous filter walls the soot particles are separated and collected. At the same time the catalytic coating oxidises the gaseous pollutants of hydrocarbon (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO) to harmless carbon dioxide and water.
The catalytic coating will cause the collected soot to oxidise during engine operation at exhaust temperatures over 320° C.

Electric heaters can be combined with the PuriFilter for applications where marginal exhaust temperatures are common or an inconsistent vehicle duty-cycle is possible, making the product extremely versatile.

All high efficiency Diesel Particulate Filters will require the periodic removal of inert ash that collects within the channels. The frequency of this cleaning is dependent on vehicle duty and engine condition. Normally a period of 12 months between cleaning is suitable. We can offer a cleaning service or for larger fleets we can supply an automated cleaning station CombiClean.
